It was 8 AM. I had my chai. I opened Twitter. And then Google Cloud Next happened to me.   I did not plan to spend two hours reading every tweet. But here we are.   This is me trying to process everything I saw. Bear with me. This is a lot.     First, the tweet that stopped me.   It was from @NewsFromGoogle. Simple words. Big news. "At #GoogleCloudNext, we announced our eighth generation of TPUs."   The eighth generation. TPU 8t for training. TPU 8i for inference. Dual chip. Fully integrated into their AI stack.   I just sat there for a second. I build with AI models every single day. And the hardware underneath them just got significantly more powerful. That is not a small thing.       Then came the Gemini Enterprise wave.   @Google dropped a post about new features in Gemini Enterprise. And I had to read it three times.   Here is what they announced:   Canvas - you can now create and edit Docs and Slides with live AI co-editing. That one made me stop scrolling.   Inbox - a central command center to monitor, guide, and manage all your agent activity. So agents now have... their own inbox. That is genuinely wild to think about.   Long-running agents - agents that handle massive multi-step workflows for hours to days. Autonomously. Inside Google's secure cloud sandboxes.   Agent Designer - employees can now build their own agents with scheduling, trigger-based logic, using any enterprise connector.   Projects - a collaborative workspace where humans and agents co-create together. Side by side.   And then Security and Governance foundations on top of all of it. Agent Identity. Agent Registry. Agent Gateway.   I kept scrolling. But I kept coming back to this one. Something about the word "Inbox for agents" just lives in my head now.     Thomas Kurian had a slide that said "Agentic Enterprise."   @ThomasOrTK posted about the new integrated stack. And there was this diagram. Five layers:   Agentic Taskforce Agentic Platform and Models Agentic Defense Agentic Data Cloud AI Hypercomputer   I looked at that diagram for a long time. This is not "we added AI to our product." This is Google saying: the entire enterprise is now agentic by default.   That shift is enormous. And quietly, most people probably scrolled past that slide.       Google Workspace Intelligence. And the demo that got me.   @GoogleWorkspace announced Workspace Intelligence. A truly connected workspace where AI supports your workday from within the apps you already use.   Now look. I use Google Workspace every single day. Gmail. Docs. Sheets. Meet.   The idea that AI can now support me inside those tools in a deeply integrated way. Not as a chatbot on the side. Not as a browser extension. From inside the product itself.   That changes how I work. I need access to this. As soon as possible.     The Wiz moment. And the honest take.   TechCrunch put it bluntly: "If you paid $32B for a startup, you'd hype them up at your event too."   That made me laugh. But also... they are not wrong. Google acquired Wiz. And Google Cloud Next was clearly the stage where they justified that price tag.   The pitch: unified security using Google SecOps, Security Command Center, and Mandiant. For the CME Group (the world's leading derivatives marketplace) they made this work at nanosecond precision.   Nanosecond. Precision. In security. At enterprise scale.   Whether or not $32B was worth it, that use case alone is hard to argue with.     The Lakehouse moment.   @googlecloud posted about the Lakehouse partner ecosystem. Databricks. dbt. Snowflake. MongoDB. Salesforce. SAP. Workday. Oracle. And many more.   The message was simple: No matter where your data lives, Google Cloud provides the trusted context to act on it.   I build pipelines. Data from five different places. I know how painful "trusted context across sources" actually is. Seeing Google say: we handle that now, at scale, with all your partners already integrated.   That one was quiet but massive.       What I will try the moment I get access.   Okay. Real talk now.   If I could get access to one thing from Google Cloud Next '26 right now. One thing.   It would be Long-running agents in Gemini Enterprise.   Here is why.   I build research tools. Scraping, summarizing, cross-referencing, generating reports. Right now I chain multiple scripts together. Multiple cron jobs. Multiple failure points.   A long-running agent that can do this autonomously for hours or days inside a secure cloud sandbox. Without me babysitting it. That solves a real pain I have right now.   The second thing I would try: Canvas. Because co-editing a document with an AI that has full context, in real time, inside Google Docs. Not a sidebar. Not copy-paste. Actual live collaboration. I want to see what that feels like.     My honest feeling after two hours of scrolling.   Google Cloud Next '26 did not feel like a product launch. It felt like a direction change.   The word "agentic" was everywhere. And for the first time, it did not feel like marketing. It felt like architecture.   They are not adding agents to their stack. They are rebuilding the stack around agents.   That is different. That matters. And as someone who builds with AI tools every day, from Kolkata, on a laptop, trying to make things that actually work.
